So, since I have, over the years, accumulated a massive, and I do mean MASSIVE, amount of anime, either purchased on DVD or downloaded fansubs, I think I'm going to try something new this year. I'm going to try and reduce my backlog, and as I watch through the series I'll write little reviews of them here. Will anyone care? Dunno, really. But maybe

Hello! I am really interested in what you're doing, and have been planning on doing something similar myself. So far, though, I only have one for the Higurashi series haha!
But I would really love to see someone else's opinions on series that I'm sure I've probobly seen.

I see that you've rated Higurashi a 9(unless I'm reading this wrong) which is great! But I see you have Pani Poni Dash on your on-hold, and I think that's one of the better series I've seen!

I'm curious what you think of the Gundam. Gundam X is almost universally hated in Japan, but I liked it a lot. You also have a LOT of Gundam from the UC century, so if you watch it, I recommend you watch it in UC order, not the order it was released. That would be:

Mobile Suit Gundam
Gundam 0083
Zeta Gundam
ZZ Gundam
Char's Counterattack
Gundam F91
Victory

And while you're at it, later this year, Gundam Unicorn is coming out, and I'm pretty sure it fits between ZZ and Char's Counterattack. I think.

Conversely, you could go with one of the other Gundam universes, the SEED universe or the 00 series. I wouldn't recommend watching SEED Destiny until you've at LEAST seen through Zeta Gundam, as there are so many intentional parallels that you'll enjoy it much better. Destiny is essentially a modern re-imagining of Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam with a LITTLE ZZ thrown in for good measure.

Gundam X was interesting. I need to go back and rewatch it from the beginning, I only ever saw to like episode 20 or thereabouts way back when I was first looking for it. But now I have the whole series, so I can watch it all the way through.

As for the UC Gundams, I planned to watch them in the order they were released, which for the most part is the order they were made in, save for 0080 and 0083. I know where they all fall in the timeline, so I'm not worried about getting confused.

SEED is good, and I have all of it and Destiny, though I only ever saw about 15 episodes into SEED proper. I like how Kira is a more interesting character than Amuro ever was.

I really liked Gundam X. I can't really say why, but something just sort of resonated with me. I guess it was the Gundam designs
