This is beautiful. I love that you've tied in Ten as well, and all he had lost before he met River. (In my head it is no accident that River is a 'child of the TARDIS', imo it actually was the TARDIS who wanted her Doctor to not to be alone anymore and Amy's and Rory's wedding night gave her the opportunity to create River. Maybe that's too meta, but I can find that in your vid.) I especially like how you edited the beginning, showing the library, the chair, the abandoned diary. Beautiful and sad and a wonderful homage to their love story. Thank you for posting this.

Maybe that's too meta, but I can find that in your vid. Oh absolutely, I can see no other reading. (I made the exact same point in this giant post-TWoRS meta post.) And there is no such thing as too meta! :)
I ACTUALLY READ THAT META POST BACK THEN! Ha! A friend of mine forwarded it to me after our own conversations over TWoRS, and I loved your analysis and agreed with so much! Especially in the wake of outrage that followed the whole "What?! She takes the fall for him and he doesn't even really love her?" debate, which you so wonderfully proved wrong, showed that he DOES and she is free and it is actually quite the opposite. So, THANK YOU for that, too! :D
ETA: People who can't see that he loves her should leave children's TV alone and go find something less complex to watch. (And I mean that - a lot of children's TV is very sophisticated.) My 6 year old understood TWoRS perfectly well.
I... am not really capable of being coherent right now. I've loved the song, and all the Doctor/River stuff it contains for... Well, ever since it first appeared. (I have a meta post here, running through stuff.)
I might be back later with more indepth comments, but for now I just want to thank you for making one of my dreams come true! This is a vid I've wished for forever! <3

Oh wow! This is by far the longest comment I have ever received on one of my music videos so that has just made my day :D Also, to receive a comment from you, the person who wrote that absolutely amazing and epic meta post is so awesome. I loved everything you had to say about the TWoRS and all the links back to previous moments in the show plus your thoughts on the character's motivations and all the mirrors, etc. In short, I agree with everything there! Even though, I would have never even considered half of it until I read it in your post lol Anyway, it is such a huge compliment to know that this video and my choice of clips fits in with your thoughts on the show and this song's references to it. I have enjoyed reading your thoughts so thank you so much for commenting and I look forward to reading more of your metas in the future :)
This is exquisite -- I love how the "alone" scenes are made more poignant by the "shadow" memories of times with connections -- and I love the inclusion of Rose, Martha, and Donna in those connections, which only highlight the Doctor's aloneness more. I also love the moment when River gives her regeneration energy to the Doctor -- how she chooses connection, even knowing the time will come when she will be alone again, when he doesn't know her. Altogether gorgeous vid, beautiful and subtle and absolutely true.
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed this video and that you liked my choice of clips that highlighted the Doctor's loneliness by using scenes of the previous companions as memories along with showing River's sacrifice to save the Doctor. Thanks for commenting!
