A Few Random Thoughts

I’m a senior!!! It’s amazing and scary how fast college has gone by. My “now what?” mentality has already kicked in. I always look forward to no homework and no studying, but for a few days, I feel kind of lost without it.

My excitement was also short-lived when I got home last night and saw that Gilmore Girls had been cancelled. I thought I wasn’ ( Read more... )

OMG, Tim Daly is 51???? I had no idea. Damn he looks really really good for his age then. But it makes my huge attraction to him a little creepy, because he's almost as old as my dad.

Anyway, I think I'm going to like Addison's show too.

I'm glad someone else liked it too! Tim Daly looks more like he's in his early 40s not 50s; I was so surprised when I heard what his actual age was.

I'm just completely heartbroken over the fact that GG is cancelled. For several reasons really. First, because I was expecting it for so long UNTIL Ausiello and other sources starting saying that it was pretty much in stone that the show would be coming back for at least a partial 8th season. And because we get this announcement like two weeks before the finale. No preparation time AT ALL. But the worst thing about it is what I was saying in the midst of the Lorelai/Chris fiasco - that this is the end and they're wasting so much time on this disaster of a storyline. And now it's true: they spent an entire season and a half tearing Luke/Lorelai down and devote a whole five episodes to throwing them together at the end of the series. And as I was reading on TWoP, there are so many hints and anvils throughout the series for Luke/Lorelai (the chuppah, the Twickham house, Lorelai's dream about twins, etc.) that we will NEVER get to see. And for what? So we could see once and for all the Chris/Lorelai relationship play out and get the ( ... )

"And as I was reading on TWoP, there are so many hints and anvils throughout the series for Luke/Lorelai (the chuppah, the Twickham house, Lorelai's dream about twins, etc.) that we will NEVER get to see."

I hadn't thought about all of those things...it keeps getting sadder. This is probably the epitome of a "what could have been" situation. I resent Amy Sherman-Palladino more & more; she wrote Lorelai into a corner and it was going to be next to impossible to get out of it in one season. But then why did the new execs keep her with Chris so long? She could have just realized that one night was a mistake and he wasn't the one for her. There was no need to have them get married and seem so happy for as long as they did. I'm guessing Lorelai's not even divorced yet. It's just very disappointing to see it end this way, and I agree that if Ausiello hadn't started hyping its renewal the last few weeks, I would've been more ok with things.

"GG will forever be a show that never lived up to its potential, and after seven really long years ( ... )
