I don't blame you for defriended that person. I probably would have too. And I don't get the people that get pissed off when you defriend them and don't give them notice. Why am I required to give you notice? I was slightly annoyed that someone had defriended me, but I figured she had a lot going on and I just wasn't in the bubble of what she wanted to engage in on a regular basis. No biggie, I moved on without really thinking about it beyond the first two minutes.

Yeah, I probably will defriend her. Like in your situation, we got hooked up because of one common thing. Unfortunately, her entire world revolves around this one thing and it was just an interest for me (and actually since we got hooked up on LJ, it's not even something I'm all that interested in any more).

I've only been unfriended by one person and that's because of some drama that went on in the Tin Man fandom a few years back. I admit that I was a bit hurt and upset about it because she and I used to get along and I had nothing to do with the drama (just was friends with people on both sides) but I got over it.

There's one or two people in my f-list that I've considered unfriending for quite some time but I'm still on the fence about it.

I mostly just go through and unfriend people who aren't my friend anymore or never talk to me at all. I figure they don't care that much anyway.

I did just go through a cull my comms. That was refreshing.

I can understand the difficulty - it's a topic of discussion I've had with a few others from time to time and the only agreement we can reach is that there is no agreement on what to do or not do. That makes sense, since we're all individuals.

I've only had to unfriend a couple of people. That was because I only knew them through LJ and they didn't post anything for six months or more in either their LJ or in comments on my posts. I didn't tell them, either. However, I also have not had a lot of friends on LJ, so who knows? There might be drama in my future yet.
