Comment-fic Halloween

Nov 01, 2010 21:19

I tried writing my first comment-fic meme over at hoodietime because I was told to...
Wooohooo, exciting, I know =) I actually always wanted to try it. So, I did.

Interested? Right

Promt by spiceblueeyes: You know parents check candy because there is always some article in the paper around Halloween about horrible people poisoning the candy, or putting razor blades in candy apples and handing them out to trick-or-treating kids? I want to see wee!Dean read a Halloween safety article, and then freak out and triple check wee!Sam's candy before he's allowed to eat it. Maybe staring at the adults handing out candy suspiciously trying to figure out if they might be trying to poison Sam.

"There's a hole in the wrapping- paper" the older kid say's and puts it back in the bowl.

"Oh" She looks down at the candy, picks a another one and hands it to the younger one, " Here sweetie, this one should be fine".

"No thank you", the little kid is smiling gratefully at her and continues, "Dean says that if one of them are wrong I'm not s'posed to have any"

She glances at the older one. If looks could kill. "Oh...okay then...Happy halloween!"

-oOo-

It's been a while since the last group of kids came to his door, and when the doorbell rings he happily gets up from his armchair and walks as fast as he can. His legs are stiff, so it's not racerspeed, but considering he's seventy-two, it's quite fast.

There are two kids in the doorway. The older one looks tired and grumpy, but the younger one is beaming at him, "Trick ot treat?"

"Wow, I have a ghost on my doorstep!" he says in an ecxited voice while bringing up the candybowl.

"Mhm" the kid says, "But I have a big hole for my whole face instead of two small ones for my eyes. Because Dean said I had to because I talk so much so I need more oxygen".

"Sam," the older one, Dean?, says, "You don't have to tell him that".

"But everyone keeps asking, so I figured I could them before they ask" Sam says like it's the best idea in the world.

He chuckles and is just about to put the candy in Sam's bag, but the older one stops him.

"Sorry, sir" he says hoarsley, "but could I take a look at that?"

Dean inspects the candy like he's never seen anyone do before, turning it all directions.

"Should be fine, Sammy"

"Really? Oh, thank you Dean. And thank you Sir for not poisoning the candy"

-oOo-

Yeah, yeah, the door is ringing. Again. She shouldn't have agreed on babysiting on Halloween.

Well, at least she got candy.

"Trick or treat"

She smacks her gum and holds out the candy. "One handful each".

The two boys stare and then the smaller one takes two pieces and hands them to the older one who looks at it closely. Okay....weeird.

"Thank you"

-oOo-

"Hello, happy Halloween"

There are two cute boys at her doorstep, the younger one dressed in a homemade ghost costume, just a sheet. "Trick or treat," the ghost says, smiling brightly at her. The older kid just coughs, a wet nasty cough.

She starts to give the younger kid candy, but stops, "Here you... oh, why dont't you have a bag,?" she he asks the older kid.

He's just about to answer her when she hears her children fighting on the living room. Wonderful, halloween sugarhigh. She sighs, and the older kid coughs again. She looks around and realizes she don't see a parent around for them. Her eyes starts to water.

"You know honey, I got one extra" she says ang grabs her ten-year old's bag and then heaves two handfulls of candy in both bags before they have time to protest.

-oOo-

She sees them from the window, before they even have time to ring the doorbell.

The older one looks horrified when she opens the door. "I'm sorry," he says, dragging his arm across his nose, and sniffling, "could you...could you just give us a second?" he says, and turns his back towards her, whispering with the other kid.

She might be old, but she still got her hearing and picks up some of it.

"No way, Sammy"

"...fine Dean, I don't...I think you....fever...."

"...read in the paper....you know..."

"..okay...just..."

They turn around.

"I'm sorry Miss" the ghost says. "We can't accept your candy. My brother's real sick, you know, and we need to head home".

She looks at the brother whose feverish eyes are suspisously looking  at her.

"I'm sorry to hear that my dears, but are you sure you don't..."

"No!" the little one says, glances at his brother and smiles."But thank you"

And they walk away, the smaller one leading the other one away with a small bag dangling from one hand.

And that's it. Feel free to tell me if there's any mistakes, because I wrote this fast without anyone checking it...
