[It's not the act of throwing the book across the room that activates the journal, but rather the inarticulate howl that follows it and triggers the audio recording. Whoever is on the other end is Very Angry.]

No! Not like this! DANARIUS!

[Ah, there's a name that might mean something to those who know it. There's a crash, followed by the sound of ( Read more... )

[Varric'd been distracted looking through back entries in the journals, so he doesn't see this right away.

And promptly makes to get out and head out of the stable tower, until he sees that Fenris is actually starting to reply to comments on the journal.]

I take it you've figured out that he's not behind this?

(Whelp, I'd say something like "You can never disregard Varric!" in the subject line, but LJ has decided that we don't need no stinkin' subject lines anymore. So there you have it.)

[The initial surprise at seeing the reply isn't so much that it's Varric at all as it is that it took him this long to say something.]

Yes. Not that it would surprise me to find him sitting on the throne here. Or lurking behind it.

LJ, why you do this to us? sayhitobianca December 23 2011, 08:09:49 UTC
[Obviously Varric needs to go back to paying closer attention to newer stuff, man.]

If he was capable of pulling something like this off, I think we would've heard from him a long time ago.

[Unless he'd just been biding his time, but Varric doubts it. Not even the most powerful mages back at home could mess with time like this, as far as Varric knows.]

I don't suppose you noticed any of us were missing?

No, you and Hawke were both with me to the last moment... yet Hawke claims to have been here for months. I suppose you'll tell me the same.

Not as long as Hawke apparently has, but yes. It's been almost five months now. The same thing happened to me, when I first got here. I'd just saw them a moment ago, but they'd been here for weeks.

[Not going to lie, he's somewhat glad it's not just him that'd happened to.]
