Reading something today and discovered there is going to be a remake of Scarface. Now, I was not a fan of it though I think I have seen it many years ago. I think if they did a remake of the original Scarface (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023427/?ref_=nv_sr_3), it would be more acceptable, since I doubt many film goers is familiar with that one!

Have you seen Headhunters (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1614989/?ref_=nv_sr_2) which is a film of another Jo Nesbo novel? It's very good (and funny).

I'm with you on Di Caprio and it's a shame they're casting him for Scarface. I'm not against the idea of a remake at all although I feel it'd be way more interestnig and probably really awesome - given the continued significance of Scarface to hip hop culture - if they made Tony Montana black.

The worst remakes are the ones that cling too tightly to the original and just end up being a weak imitation. The best ones rip up the rule book.

But if you're going to rip up the rulebook, why remake at all? I guess that's why they call it a "reboot" instead. I have to say, the Star Trek series has been refreshed quite well by destroying Vulcan and changing the canon.
