General Rules
* Each prompt can be claimed once for Fic and once for Art per challenge round.
* Claiming will be on a first come, first serve basis.
* Only one fic and/or one art claim per LJ user for each claiming round. Additional claims by lj users can be made when the next claiming round opens.
* While each prompt is open to both fic and art, collaboration is not required. But if you do want to collaborate, that's fine too!
* Teen Wolf fic/art only. Crossovers are allowed, but the focus should be on Teen Wolf characters and pairings.
* Co-authoring is allowed (only one person needs to show up to claim the prompt), and so are vids as art submissions. If you're an artist thinking of anything else other than graphics or vids, please leave a comment to this post so one of the mods can clear it as okay.
* The minimum word count for stories will be 1500, there is no maximum word count.
* Posting dates for this challenge will be assigned.
Prompts/Claiming:
* Once claims are open, follow these directions on the claiming post to successfully claim your prompt.
Your 3 Simple Steps to Claiming A Prompt:
Step 1) Browse through the list of available
prompts. Take your time going over them if you need to, but please remember that claiming is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Meaning you need to claim your prompt before anyone else in your chosen category (fic or art)! For this reason, you might also want to have your second and third choices ready to comment with when you sign up. If by some unhappy coincidence you don't get your first choice of prompts and you also don't list a few extra options, then we will be unable to hold your second or third choice for you!
Also, if you're really gung-ho on a particular Disney film that ISN'T listed in the prompts section, then comment and let us know you're interested. Most likely, if it came from Disney, we'll let you have it. But have a few other options ready just in case!
Step 2) Got your prompts ready? Awesome! Come on over to the claiming post and use the following format to secure yourself a prompt (simply copy/paste into a comment what's in the text box, and fill it in accordingly):
Name: YOUR USERNAME (if you are co-writing, BOTH NAMES GO HERE. If you are claiming for someone else, ONLY THEIR NAME GOES HERE.)
Email/Contact: YOUR EMAIL/LJ MESSAGE/WAY OF CONTACT
Fic or Art: PLEASE ONLY CHOOSE ONE
1st Choice Prompt: TITLE AND NUMBER OF YOUR CHOSEN PROMPT HERE
2nd Choice Prompt: TITLE AND NUMBER OF YOUR CHOSEN PROMPT HERE
3rd Choice Prompt: TITLE AND NUMBER OF YOUR CHOSEN PROMPT HERE

*** Please note that if you are a writer teaming up with an artist or vice versa, only one of you needs to sign up. Simply put the name of the other person in the comments/concerns area when filling out your claim and indicate who's doing what. Please remember that you must still claim the prompt before another artist or author does so.
If you're co-writing or doing art with another artist put the name of the other person in the comments/concerns area when filling out your claim and state co-artist.
If you're claiming for someone else, THEIR name and contact information, not yours, needs to go in the appropriate places.
If you are claiming for someone else and ALSO claiming something for yourself, then unless you are co-writing and/or doing their art or fic for their art, you need to make TWO SEPARATE CLAIMING COMMENTS. This is what the mods have deemed to be fair.
Step 3) Once you've commented, simply wait for a mod to come by and validate your prompt! Once you've received a response and officially have your prompt, THE FUN BEGINS! If you wish to pimp the challenge, you can find our banner
here. We can't wait to see what you all come up with!
* Proxies (people claiming for others) are allowed for this challenge.
* Once you have your prompt, you have until check in to complete your rough draft for your contribution. At that time, we will create a schedule for posting and you will be assigned a specific date to post. If you have not completed a rough draft for fic or finalized your art at that time, we will ask that you drop out of this round.
* Co-authoring/artists are allowed, and only one person needs to be there to claim the prompt. Just make sure you comment with BOTH names. Similarly, artists are allowed to pair up with a specific author, as well. Just treat it like the co-authoring thing, and comment with both names and say who's doing what.
Posting Art/Fic:
* When it's your day to share your amazing creation with the community, we ask that you post to your own journal, Tumblr, AO3 etc. first and then link back to it from the comm. Make sense? Leave a comment if you are unsure as to how to do this.
* We realize that many of these prompts might not seem to lend themselves well to, well, people or werewolves. Let us reassure you that, no, we are not expecting you to turn Lydia and Jackson into stolen puppies a la 101 Dalmatians (unless that's what you want to do and for which we would love you immensely for). In fact, this is where the CHALLENGE portion of our program comes into play! :D For example, take the following prompt from the film Brother Bear:
When an impulsive boy named Kenai is magically transformed into a bear, he must literally walk in another's footsteps until he learns some valuable life lessons. His courageous and often zany journey introduces him to a forest full of wildlife, including the lovable bear cub Koda, hilarious moose Rutt and Tuke, woolly mammoths, rambunctious rams, and more!
We don't expect you to make Derek and Stiles into bears and have them meet up with moose!Scott and Isaac in a prehistoric Beacon Hills. Literal scene for scene adaptations are not exactly what we are looking for here, be creative. Take the core points of the movie, in this case a tale of maturity and having to see someone else's eyes, and run with that. Ultimately, it is up to you how close you stay to your prompt.
* "But what if I choose a prompt that has several different adaptations and/or sequels?" -- Good question! You might notice that we do not list sequels on the Master List of Prompts. This is because if you choose a prompt such as High School Musical that has several known sequels, you basically OWN the entire franchise...so to speak. You are therefore free and welcome to take anything and everything from any High School Musical film and use it in your story or art! See how easy that was? Similarly, if you choose a prompt such as Robin Hood, which has many different adaptations outside of Disney, you are allowed to "borrow" from another adaptation if it works for you. We are not going to force you to ONLY use the Disney version, but we expect some element from the Disney version to be present! So, for example, if you wanted to get rid of that scheming Prince John from the Disney version and replace him with the rotten Sheriff of Nottingham as your Big Bad a la Kevin Costner, that's fine! If you have further questions about this, please contact a mod!
If we haven't answered your burning question re: writing or posting your fic/art, or something else is confusing you or possibly hindering your decision-making process, then please feel free to comment here and we'll do what we can! Otherwise, see you all on claiming day! And remember...nothing's impossible!
