Minor Comp help....

So I have all of my lovely music that I enjoy listening to on my desktop. I would like to put this music on my new laptop. Problem: cd burner on the desktop doesn't want to work properly. The computer recognizes that the cd drive is there but it won't burn. I've tried a couple different programs (Nero and Windows Media Player re: the default one

Do you have a router for internets, or another way of hooking up the desktop and laptop into a network? Because if you put them onto the same network, you could just activate file sharing on your desktop, share the folder with the files you want, and then copy them onto your laptop. Easy as pie. Or cake. Possibly cookies.

I would network your computers. You can do it with a crossover cable, or beg, borrow, or steal a router or hub.

p.s. what are you doing with the components from your desktop? You may recall I am in the market for a cd-rom. Preferably a dvd-rom but i will take what I can get

i'm doing that too right now... i just used two msn live messenger sign in's and put all my music in the sharing folder
