i agree, and i especially love all the trippy scenes! and a good number of memorable memorable moments. ewan looks good lean and drugged out. i was going to watch Chungking Express and Violent Cop in a double bill showing but (a) i had to prepare for a moot and (b) the debit card i used to book the tickets was stolen so i would have to fight to get my ticket anyway, so i skipped it :(
the book > film (even if i'm partial to danny boyle) it's because the quote mentioned tommy and the tommy in the film was an amalgamation of a couple of characters in the book, and and, it's just much more awesome/heart-wrenching when the character dies (in the book).
it's a ploy, they always bloody well show trainspotting during fresher's week for some reason. my union showed it during fresher's week with tickets at 2 quid. SWEET! (along with zaitoichi)
i don't know if i will read the book ever but i will be sure to keep that in mind :) i know, it can be such a cliche can't it (freshers' week D:) but the film itself is pretty damn good.
WHY!? (RESISTS URGE TO SHAKE YOU VIOLENTLY) welsh is a master at vocalising human emotions, and the scottish jargon in it is pretty easy once you hear it in your head (a version of the book comes with a glossary list, much like the clockwork orange glossary list). the book is brilliant, bitter sweet and if you enjoyed the movie, the book definitely bears a good bulk more flesh to every scene in the film.
(as you can see i am a welsh convert)
i love freshers' week, the drunken people, being completely lost and having people shove about 10 million flyers in your face, not to mention natwest probably has a good monopoly of the student sector's finances. :D how is living in the halls treating you? or the english weather for that matter. :P and i hope you've ingested a fair bit of snakebite and late night kebabs by now.
p/s danny boyle's bestest work (IMO) - 28 days later. (and cillian murphy is hot)
oh no it's not anything except inertia i have no issue with jargon - really liked the nadsat in clockwork orange. i will do it sometime for sure! sometime.
agreed on cillian murphy - strangely the first thing that i notice all the time is his nose.
