Regarding recent television
In the shows I have been watching lately, people keep making decisions that are not theirs to make. The troubling thing is that in some cases, I don't see what other decision could have been made.
Also, regarding Torchwood, with no spoilers, I don't think. Dear BBC, the United States has this philosophy: "We do not negotiate with terrorists." And I had thought that it was not just the United States, but if your whole premise for a show ignores that, I don't think you should have involved that one character at all.
