So, before I start talking about more important things, here is an amusing exchange between me and Katie while watching the End of Time Part Two.
Earlier:
Ten: ...very old and wise Earth saying...
Carolyn: Geronimo?
Ten: Allonsee.
Carolyn. Ah. That makes sense.

Later:
Eleven: GERONIMO!
Carolyn: ...I think he just said Geronimo.
Katie: Yes he did.
Carolyn: I think I get two points for that.
Katie: Awarded.

Now onwards.

Donna Noble is a problem. RTD seems to think that now she is married and about to have money, that everything is okay there. Well, he is wrong. Because Donna is not Donna. As Katie put it, she is not a fully realized character anymore. And setting her up like that is not going to change that at all. RTD just doesn't get it. Here is a better ending:
Ten: *watches wedding from a distance*
Wilf and Donna's mum: *notice and walk over*
Donna: *sees them go off adn sees the Doctor.
*Same exchange as before about the borrowing a quid and all that*
Suddenly,
SMACK. Donna hits the doctor in the face.
Donna: Thanks for NOTHING!   *goes back to her wedding*

Much better. They could even leave it ambiguous how much Donna remembers. Wouldn't be perfect, but would make me much happier.

The Time Lords. Some of them made it through. They had to. They would be the best morally gray villains EVER! And it would shake up the show quite a bit. Maybe someday. I know it doesn't seem like it. But I have to hope that some of them used their TARDISes and escaped from teh burning Gallifrey.
The Master: I am satisfied with the conclusion of that story. I have no complaints except that there was a bit of an excess of Master-laughing-maniacally.
The Green People: I hope we see the again. I like them. I actually think the green girl would make a good companion. She's pretty cool but she is not perfect and would learn a lot from traveling with the Doctor. And if people objected to green and spiky, she could always shimmer.

The Doctor's Demise. I think I approve. He did not go gracefully. And for a while that bothered me, but it made him more human/TimeLord and less godlike. Katie mentioned to me some bet about whether he'd go out tragically or sparkly-a-la-end-of-season-three. I was betting on the latter, given RTD's penchant for epic-ness and Lonely God. Guess not. And I am very greatful for that. And it kind of breaks my heart that Wilf was the one who knocked.

The Doctor's Goodbyes:
MARTHA AND MICKEY! Wow. But when did that happen? And what happened to the doctor bloke? Come on people.

JACK! That bar was hysterical! It was all the aliens we've seen plus obvious Star Wars shout-outs! Bwahahahaha! And OBVIOUSLY Jack would go there to drown his sorrows. And that was the best way ever for the Doctor to save him. "His name is Allonso" And then - IT WAS ALONSO/GEORGE! That was fantastic. I am so glad I was not spoiled for that at all. So glad. Best part of the ending sequence.
Visiting the daughter/granddaughter of the Matron whatever her name was was also lovely. And visting Rose and Jackie was sweet too. But Jack/Alonso is the best thing ever.

Eleven: It's way too soon to tell, but my initial impression of him is actually that he seems to be trying to be like David Tennant. But we only saw him for about 60 seconds, if that, so we'll see.

....
Just talked to Katie again. She will likely elaborate on this, and she brought it up so I don't wantot take credit. But I agree with her that it would have been more emotionally devastating if the Doctor had regenerated right there in the radiation chamber. If he was just ... gone. As it was, neither of us cried. My eyes got a little misty in the radiation chamber and right at "I don't want to go" but not very much. And I actually cry very easily. So. There we have it.

Geronimo!
