Passion v.s. Talent v.s. Pragmatism

In the 19 years of my life, I've heard so many people say, "Hey Constance! That's really well done! You should totally do it for a living, I'm sure you'll be great." But the thing is, it's not always for the same field. I'm sure everone will get this once in a while. And you know it leaves me totally confused and sometimes I do wonder what I should ( Read more... )

Yeah can't agree more. It becomes like something you have to do (like a job) rather than something you love to do. And that's something I am really afraid of. Losing the love for something do just for practical reasons. No doubt it is important to make money, but I don't want to dilute that love I have and make it something that i dread to do because it's work. You know, it's hard to decide where you want to put your feet into. You may like it now, but once you put your feet into it and make it a career, it becomes something you dread doing and I hate that. I don't want to see that happening.

It's hard ):

I KNOW YOUR HEART MY DEAR! You are one of the most creative person I've ever met.

I guess we all struggle with that. In this world, there's just too much pressure pressing us on every side. But you should just keep the passion for design burning. And I'm sure the business degree will help when you decide to open your store later.

Keep designing, keep coming out with new ideas and keep experimenting. One day you will be an awesome designer and i will wear your clothes and you will design my wedding gown. (: I believe in you my dear.

hi constance

i understand how you feel. sometimes i'm like, why can't my passion be accounting...or law...or medicine? but oh well, you can't change the way your heart was made.

so i have a theory- we aim to be happy in life. i mean, that's why people want to earn alot of money in the first place, so they can be happy. but by doing something you hate for a living, is the most unpragmatic thing to do ever. haha makes sense?

nevertheless it's important to be smart with money, and there are many other ways to make money, besides a paying job.

I think that even if what u love doing doesn't make you much money.
You can do it as a side project.

Doing something u are good at but dun enjoy just doesn't give u enough push to do it well.
So if u can't do it well, it's not gonna be good anyways. THAT might affect ur income in the long run.

Gotta weigh the stakes! =)
