Tourist attractions = wait til April. Seriously, Hamburg will have zero hours of sunshine before then. I would say to go the Museum of Hamburgische Geschichte - it's awesome, but kind of expensive. Also, and this might sound odd, but the cemetery in Ohlsdorf is beautiful, if hard to get to for you.
Bars/clubs...what sort of music do you like? My favorite place was the Kir Club - this venue in Altona that had indie nights, Goth nights, 80s nights, queer electoclash and alternative nights, etc. I'd recommend touring the Kiez once, and that's it. It's overpriced, full of hookers and tourists (duh), and very proli. The best bars are probably in Sternschanze, as that's where the students hang out. If you've met Emily or Karissa, they know a lot of cool spots (because they're cool).
