This week is more Borderlands.

I finished up the first Borderlands with Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, and reaching the max of level 69 (nice). The DLC was fun and I liked seeing all of the previous antagonists Claptrap themed.

I didn’t finish the quest to collect Claptrap parts for Tannis due too not wanting to spend an hour farming Claptraps. ( Read more... )

I spent a lot of time the last few weeks talking about the intuitive difficulty curve of RollerCoaster Tycoon. With few exceptions, a new player can quickly grasp the basics of the game and even start experimenting with different tactics to win the long list of scenarios. It’s always amusing when the in-game party leader is a different person from the out-of-game leader. The most articulate player - or the one with the most decisive personality - is usually not the same person as the one with the high in-game charisma score.

This week I’m still playing Rimworld. I, for some reason, decided that it would be a good idea to start a new game on a mountainous ice sheet. With a lot of loading saves and very careful resource management, my base is not about to crumble any second, and it only took five hundred days to get there. The original RollerCoaster Tycoon was released as a PC/Windows game in early 1999. It is older than one of my children. Despite RCT’s modern reputation, it was a well-regarded but not uniquely-celebrated title.
