D'you know what I like about the Cam?

That in January I caught a cheap flight and played in Dublin. That last year I played twice in Italy. That later this year I was/am looking forward to playing a game in Sydney...that I can go over the world and enjoy a game with other people in other countries.

~sad~

Me too. I loved that you could play a great local game, politic with the people in your country and then argue with the Aussies about their rite of self-determination away from the UK Silver Fangs. I've never travelled as much as you in the game, but I did bring Twice-Dead across from Australia and influence US politics. He fought in Ireland and Africa. It made the world more real.

And I made a lot of friends in different countries.

You know you're not allowed to speak to anyone in the US now, right?

UK Cam is now split from the global game. Contractual disagreements between White Wolf and Cam UK. Politics and law.

Fun fun. How did they screw that one up?

UK Cam is now split from the global game. Contractual disagreements between White Wolf and Cam UK. So no global game to go with the local game.

The local games which didn't cater to local people? The ones which aren't 'allowed' to let people in who are not members?

I'm glad I quit a while back ;)

Basically WW wanted the UK to agree to a new contract; part of which would not have been legal for the UK to have agreed to.

When the UK board pointed this out, they terminated the negotiations, and bang. No more affiliation.

I am mildly sorrowful at this. For I got much shininess out of the global chronicle - a corax found a long lost father in a far away land. A kinfolk had an ill advised fling with a Silver Fang which later came back to haunt her after she got married. A Brujah met a Lasombra (and became a Brusombra) and I got to meet a lot of wonderful people all over the world.

It is sad. Realistically it won't affect me much, as long as the changeling games keep running (and I hope they will), but it is an odd feeling and very much the end of an era.

Same thing here. I don't play any more - but it's nice to know it's out there - all those crazy little plots building a web of backstory that no single ST could create on their own and that you could fly to Arizona and find your long lost nephew.

Yeah, but I lost my Silver Fang to some psycho just because Freddy slept with Lara Croft, Tomb Raider...

:)

wait, what do you mean "Ill advised???"

I'm intrigued by the legality question. Was what WW wanted to do illegal under Uk Law?

Probably the data protection stuff again.

That's been easily resolved in the past so shouldn't have been an issue.
