First all off, when you checked in, they should have noticed that your doctor wasn't even there.
Was this a stand-alone place or part of a larger health care system? You should be able to complain to someone about this, so it doesn't happen again.
I am in good with someone who is in charge of firing/hiring at Sharp, so if I'm mistreated, they pay the price. I tattle when they don't follow protocol. The perks of who you know.
