Love that Obama decided not to pay the military until after the shutdown. They'll 'earn' their salary and be paid later. They don't do that already by putting their lives on the line?!

I'm angry at the politicians in general. 7+ months and these idiots can't decide on a budget? WTF?

as for the military pay, we are personally affected by this (but we have enough savings for a while), but I know why he's doing it. He's not signing because what the House is proposing is not just military pay, but the entire Pentagon budget, so if he signs it, they can't make any cuts to DoD in follow on negotiations. Of course, I personally think that given what they want the military to do, that there is no way they can reduce the budget. I do think they need to roll in the 'war' costs into the budget rather than this special funding they've been doing.

Just hope this doesn't drag on too long. But given the fact they are arguing over the reason why they can't get a budget, I'm not hopeful.

anyway, still kills me that Congress, rather than address the economy and how to keep the country sound decided that passing some health care bill we have no idea how we are going to pay for it. I am so disillusioned with our government.
