Shopping for tattoos

Well.. doll tattoos, anyway. Yeah, my Minimee (it's the product name, but not accurate as it will not look like, or in fact be based on me) will have tattoos, and I was thinking initially of using tattoo decal paper for humans, but then realised that waterslide decals are probably better because they are made for plastics.

I have ordered two types of paper, both clear; one for inkjet and one for laser. I got the laser one because my Epson inkjet uses Durabrite (tm) (solvent-based) inks and this may be a problem, but there is a laser printed in the office, so I might use that as backup. Plan C would be taking the paper to a print/copy shop along with the artwork.

So I have been reading up on application instructions, and also ordered a sealer, and contemplating going in to town to get some decal transfer solution.. because I want this to look as good as it possibly can. I want the work to be durable, almost permanent, with the option to remove without a trace if I ever need to sell the SD16 body again.

I keep getting all excited about the Amelia/SD16 body... every day I get it out of the box and handle it while Ron is at work. I told him that I bought it, but he hasn't mentioned the huge box on the floor, and while he will certainly enjoy the sexy curves of this body, I don't want to hear any more rants about me spending money when I don't even have a job, especially when he is being so frugal about everything when facing the prospect of buying a house. Anyway, I am playing with the body and planning all the things I can and might do to it... sueding is a definite, as is new twigLimbs feet for the jointed legs.. and the tattoos... I have the wig, the alternative wig and the eyes... just waiting for the head... so excited.

Also, the twigLimbs torso needs a last few coatings of grey primer but I am hoping to send it out tomorrow along with some other things. Then I can finally concentrate on the new doll I am working on without feeling so guilty. I got Ron to show me how to work the spraygun and mix the paint, but I don't want to mess it up, so I am hoping he will oversee or even better: help, when he gets back from work.
