I split mine down the sides... I can still get them out fine without ripping and they don't look too bad. but you do have to sand them if you don't want shim lines.. :{ I hope it all works out for you!
It's because I have a hollow space at either end, and we don't want to compromise those inner spaces (where the hip and knee parts sit). The front was apparently the most auspicious place to put the seams from a production point of view. I will need to rework that joint in the future, so that I can have both a convex and a concave end, and the part can be cast vertically.
At the moment, the seam will cave under pressure so no pressurepot, and can't be set upright, coz the resin will fall out and the mold misalign or warp.
You are doing a great job! I am so happy with the progress. DO not lose heart!!! I think I can live with pinholes, as most of my kids are not even de-seamed. I knew this was going to be a learning process from the start and am not upset at anything.
This is Annika from DoA. I'm really interested in getting a body once the torso is completed (it is gorgeous! @_@), so I'm friending you to stay updated on when that will be. Hope that's okay?
That would be awesome, thank you! May I ask what exactly that entails? (I.e. what sort of chance I will have of getting my hands on one of these gorgeous creations?)
Also, out of curiousity, do you have any idea of when the torso will be ready to order?
Well at the moment I have no idea what is going to happen, because either Greg is going to finish my orders so I can ship them and start a new round, or I am going to get my molds and parts back and do the rest of the casting myself, because I am sick of waiting.
The backup list is for when people cancel their orders, so that I can fill slots like that very fast again. The Round 2 list would be first dibs in order #2. This time I will probably do the same kind of ordering list that Batchix and Kaye are doing
Torsoes were offered along with Limbs sets to people who had already ordered Limbs (because it became quite suddenly available after I had started taking orders for Limbs), and 19 out of 25 orders were "upgraded" to include a torso.
Hope this goes some way to clearing things up, if not, feel free to keep asking questions XD

Have you had a chance to look at Elysia yet?
