Although habe been without power since Friday night, it just came on again a little while ago. The road to Tamworth is flooded so I can't get there just yet, hopefully tomorrow though ( Read more... )

Phew! I've been so worried about you Newy folk in this time of natural disaster.

I like your point about freezer food being not so useful for post-apocalypse planning...maybe a smoke-hut instead of a freezer?

Well there is an oil tanker beached locally (Pasha Bulker), and flooding in some areas, but here we are relatively fine. Now that power is back I have caught up on the internet and had a hot shower so I'm definitely okay. It's raining lightly tonight, but nothing like before. Just glad to have access to the electrickery again.

That's what I thought at the time, but it could have been worse, w could have had the house flooded, or been the very unfortunate family on the Central Coast who plummeted to their death as the road collapsed under them!!

I think I need to learn to be less dependent on electrickery!!

I am glad you are OK and that things are returning to normal.
Amazing how used to the modern things we are. A hot shower really is one of the best things ever!
