I'm a rather timid person. I absolutely *hate* confrontations. But tonight I'm going to stand my ground!
My landlady problems just escalated.
I went back to the flat to sort out her complaints, bringing a toothbrush to deal with the "horrible grubbiness" of the showerstall and the sink faucet. I also brought industrial strenght soap and some clean, new towels to clean any other problems that might be found. I cleaned out all the things she pointed out, and even washed some things she hadn't mentioned just for good measure.
Next evening she calls me again, apparantly in a rage, because the bedroom was "OMG horribly filthy! She found dust! There were fingermarks on the doors to the wardrobes! (Strange, I distinctly remember scrubbing those)" and proceeded to demand I pay her two grands or pay for professional cleaning, because she's appalled anyone could ever leave a flat this filthy!
Fuck this shit!
That flat was cleaned out by three grown up people! I've been back twice to address minor details she complained about. And she is continuing to find more, no matter what I do. I'm getting the feeling that no matter what I do, she'd still find things to demand money for, and I really hate the feeling that somebody's trying to scam me.
I contacted the consumer rights office, I have a really good case as she carry the burden of evidence.
Wish me luck!
