Title:Don't Repeat Yourself
Team: Werewolf
Challenge: Dry
Rating: G
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Edward/Bella, Jacob/Bella
Warnings: None
Author's Notes: None
In Bella’s computer class, her teacher was fond of quoting the axiom “Don’t Repeat Yourself!” D-R-Y. Dry became the oft-repeated acronym. A piece of knowledge must be authoritative, unambiguous. Unshakeable. Say it once, and mean it. No arguments.
Of course, her teacher was referring to software development, but Bella thought it was good advice for life in general. (Unfortunately, Bella made a habit of ignoring her own advice.)
Bella’s inner monologue was nothing but repetition. Marble, angel, Adonis, I love you, forever and ever and ever and…
Then there was the one-time whisper. The air, the sun.
Basic, elemental. Unshakeable.
Title: Thirst
Team: Werewolf
Challenge: Dry
Rating: PG
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Edward/Bella
Warnings: None
Author's Notes: None
In all his time as a vampire (nearly a century; amazing how the time trickled and rushed all at once) Edward had become quite accustomed to thirst. The burn, the perpetual dryness in his throat was his constant companion. He could almost forget about it, most of the time.
Then Bella Swan came along. Her scent filled him with foreign sensations: anger, resentment, hatred, lust (both blood and otherwise). Then later, love, fascination and obsession.
But one was not so foreign: thirst. A thirst that made his previous burden seem dull in comparison. Yet Edward wouldn’t trade it for anything.
