The Twilight Mansion is both real and fake, and filled with truth and lies. It is eternally in a state of limbo, making its home between the rifts of reality. Few beings have ever come across the building, and even less actually go inside.
The looming mansion could be called a stereotypical haunted house, what with its dark appearance and age-riddled walls. The occassional spirit (both vengeful and friendly) does take up residence for a few days, and strange sounds can be heard coming from the rooms...
But the most unusual occupant of the Twilight is its mysterious owner, only known as Mystic. No one has ever seen this being or been inside the main guest room, where this person lives and never leaves. A strangely modern intercom system has been set up throughout the whole building, and the owner's oddly feminine voice can be heard over it quite frequently over the course of the day.
Every room comes with a full set of furniture and three beds, each with its very own rock statue. The smooth stones are apparently worn with age, and have many uses. They can be used to send voice messages to other rooms (or guests, if one were to carry the small objects around with them). The small journals, attached to the statues by thin chains, can be used to send written notes.
Every morning, mid-day, and evening, food and beverages are served in the Dining Hall. Each meal is created special for each guest, with ingredients from their own homeland and realm. Since there is never anyone in the kitchens, it is unknown where the food atually comes from.
The storage rooms are filled with different items each day, and can house anything from regular children's toys to giant, scientific novels. But there isn't ANY kind of electrical technology, such as computers, game consoles, cars, etc. Even the restrooms-- though they do have plumbing-- are devoid of such modern devices.
Everyday neccessities (such as clothing, books, art supplies, etc.) can also be found in the storage rooms.

The statues are the main way to communicate with other guests, and to record your daily thoughts about the mansion and such. Each character's personal LiveJournal is also their journal here, and can be used to write down personal thoughts, new ideas/plans/concerns, or to contact other guests.
You can make the entries private or have them filtered so only certain characters can read them. But that all depends on how he/she is feeling at the time.
Normal/Content: 70% to 100% private
Angry: 20% to 50% private
Sad: 50% to 80% private
Distressed: 0% to 30% private
Happy/Hopeful: 80% to 100%
But that's not really an exact rule. ^^; You can fudge it a little.
