Slightly OT but... sea_of_tethys July 25 2007, 15:55:31 UTC
I've always wondered if it was significant that the plot finishes around the time that the first book came out. There was no particular plot reason for JKR giving such specific dates for the plot, and yet not, say, setting PS/SS in the year that it was published.

At least it seems we will get *Potterverse Through The Ages*, and I do hope it's big and thick and crammed with facts. If it's the size of the earlier charity books I will feel seriously cheated.

As for another HP-verse book, I got the impression she has no wish to do one now, or in the near future. It's not totally impossible she will feel different in ten years time. Or twenty.

The nineteen years, ending up in 2017? Perhaps Jo "Oh-dear-maths" intended it to be 2007? :-D Her editors, or anyone else thanked on her website ought to have noticed, but they obviously didn't notice a fair few other plot holes.

However, one thing I’ve learned in the decade I’ve been reading Potter is that JKR does things deliberately

My thoughts exactly. I don't think she'll ever stop surprising us!

I like your thoughts! But I think the point of 19 years is to show that Harry has now lived over half his life in happiness. Or, more specifically, he has had more happy years than crap years, since he was approaching his 18th birthday at the end of DH.

ANYWAYS. The 10 years from now thought though, I LIKE IT.

Love, Amanda
