What about the theoretical point in adulthood where one must choose between D&D and They Might Be Giants?

Silly. The most effective fly-destroyer is a raggy tea towel. The whip-snapping effect kills or badly stuns them in mid-air long before they know what's happening, as there's no telltale curtain of air to forewarn them of an approaching object (they have wee sensitive hairs all over their bodies, see, and when you swing a bit of paper at them they know it's coming in plenty of time).

Also, flamethrowers.

nonsense. roleplay books are for bringing your laptop to the same height as your face.

For some of the people I know I imagine they can manage this feat while standing up and with the pile of books starting from the floor. ^^
