Just so you don't make those posts in vain :)

I did a million variations of Bella (with(out) text, b/w, in colour, bright, muted etc.) I'll spare you the datails and post two:

I think your second Bella icon, with more saturation or brightness would've been great + I love the strength of the color on the second alt - don't be afraid to be bold!

The bold part usually gets me kicked out for "oversaturation" though :)

LIMS are wierd like that. I think as long as the saturation doesn't reduce the quality of the image, make it pixelly or sharp from too much contrast - it can't hurt :)
