OMG,that was a close one and thankfully the guest house is helping out with some of the displaced families. I hope for all the rebuild and regroup efforts for them go smoothly.
It was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking close. When I saw the pieces of fire landing on the balcony (made completely of barge wood)of our building I was nearly out of my mind. What was worse is what I saw when we were allowed back in. In the alleyway between their building and ours (which is maybe four feet at the walkway) there are all these bricks. Some badly charred and pieces of burned plaster. It got so hot inside of that building the bricks were loosening and exploding outwards. In a fire that's one of the worst things that can happen. If enough of them come out aside form collapse it can create back drafts, fireballs, and other nasties either way it went to the side or the back our building would have gone up
