The idea seems interesting, but it's hard to judge since this is the very end--we don't know who any of the characters are, or why we should care about them (the flashbacks provide some insight, but not much, especially so far in to the piece - I'm assuming it's more coherent with an entire story attached), so it's not really effective as a standalone... but I'd like to see what precedes this. SO ASIDE FROM THIS BEING A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND, the writing itself is nice.
