I have missed talking to you. I also am now less inclined to spend time on the internet since I have such a busy real life now.

But your absence is perfectly excusable with a sensible career and family and things going on. Being a "grown up" and all I suppose.

I dropped onto IRC a couple weeks back just to see who was about and stuff, haha. Look me up on AIM or MSN or whatever sometime and we can catch up!

I don't do much IRC anymore. I'm mostly busy working and making babies. I'm Punky37498 on AIM, and it is possible to catch me there occasionally.

The paragraph beginning Facebook was my one weak spot. should read:

I popped onto IRC for a while last week actually, on DALnet where I went when EFnet started to slow down and had a similar kind of conversation. The place had dwindled down, the old channel, from a place where upwards of 70 or 80 people would sometimes talk down to maybe 17, half of whom were idling. There were a few old people I knew left and we all had a conversation. We talked about how the internet used to be harder and smaller, more tight-knit and also, paradoxically a lot more open ( ... )
