:: The Sound Beneath the Song
List a few of the instruments you like to hear most in your music: Violin, Piano, Cello, Flute, Drums, Oboe, Guitar
Pick a favorite of the above list and explain why you like it the most: hmm Piano, i love it when you can play running scales and arpeggios and the range is just wonderful and also my favourite musical pieces are on piano and I have always sung with piano.
What kind of melody/rhythm/beat do you like to hear in the music you listen to? Why? it all depends on my mood. when i'm in a good mood I love strong drum beats, not dance music but just music with good heavy drums, almost tribal, just something so you can loose yourself in the music. when i'm relaxing or thinking then music which flows and helps you relax like classical. and when sad, just anything in the minor and sombre.
List a few of your favorite music genres: I love Classical, esp the Romantic, Baroque, Renaissance and the Impressionist periods. Jazz, Blues, 1900s-1980s really. I love all music apart from dance/trance and rap. and I love my scottish music too
Pick one music genre and explain why you like it best: Classical(Renaissance). I love this period in music, Dowland is my favourite composer. Weepe you no more sad fountains is just so beautiful and haunting. I love this period as it's european music which is just so inventive and jolly but also has this wonderful flip side where the music is just so dark and sad. I love it so much and reminds me of very happy times.. i've probably rambled here but oh well :D

:: Your Lullaby Should Be (This or That)
Happy or Sad: hmmm sad
Sweet or Bittersweet: I dunno, I like the idea of both..i'd say bittersweet
Loud or Soft: soft
Soothing or Stirring: i'm sure you could get a lullaby which is both soothing and stirring, but i'd say soothing
Fun or Calm: calm
Lonely or Comforting: comforting

:: The Soul in the Music
Pick your one favorite album at the moment and explain why it's your favorite: The Atonement Soundtrack. if you've seen this movie you'll understand just how wonderful the music is along with the film. It also has Clair De Lune which is at one of the most beautiful moments in the film. but the music is just so stirring, haunting, and creates the tension and atmosphere of forbidden love and envy. If you have not seen this movie or heard the soundtrack you must go and listen.
Pick your one favorite song (with LYRICS) at the moment and explain why it's your favorite: not my all time fav but it's the one i've been listening to alot recently and that's, "How Could I Ever Know" from the Secret Garden. I love it as it reminds me of school, my friend sang it for her exam and since then I have fallen in love with it. I kinda relate to the lyrics Lily Sings and the melody is just so beautiful and soothing. Makes me so happy and relaxed and it's a brilliant song to listen to when i'm sad.
Pick your one favorite song (WITHOUT lyrics, an instrumental track) at the moment and explain why it's your favorite: Eric Satie Gnossienne No. 1. This song is just so haunting and gorgeous. I can listen to it for hours. I just can't explain my love for it. impressionism is another of my favourite time periods and this song just fits the period and myself very nicely.
Pick your one favorite vocalist/artist at the moment and explain why he/she is your favorite: Sarah Brightman. I love her voice, so breathy and sensual and the different genres of music she sings is brilliant. Classical(Nessun Dorma), Musicals(Phantom) to dancey type music(Question of Honour). I love her range and the notes she sings. I love the way she sings the songs, her fashion and music videos and how in her Harem album she took traditional music and added a asian, eastern beat to them.
Pick your one favorite band/group at the moment and explain why they are your favorite: The Beatles. Come on! do I really need to say why they are my favourite. they are amazing. The songs are just so catchy and they make me smile. Hey Jude IS my all time favourite song. they bring back happy memories of childhood, my teenage years and will hopefully be a big part of my future.

:: Killing Me Softly
If your lover were to serenade you with a song as a way to demonstrate his love and understanding of you, what song would he pick and why? I hate to say this but Clair De Lune. I am not a romantic person and am not into lovey lovey songs with gushing lyrics. but this piece of music is just so beautiful and romantic in a classy way. doesn't make you want to be sick as it's full of sentiment and I love you's. it's just so subtle in it's message and as it's just music it can have so many different meanings to so many different people. It is just a wonderful piece of music, He would serenade me with it and we could sit in the moonlight listening.
If you had to pick a song to define yourself, which song would you pick and why? On The Radio by Regina Spektor, the beat on the piano and the lyrics I think describes me so much. it's so quirky and fun, with bizarre, eccentric lyrics and words. Just like me and the line, "we laugh until we cry, we cry until we laugh" I can't think of any other way to describe my life. <3 <3
Your last message to the world (before you leave it) has to be through song. What song do you decide to send to your loved ones and why? Hey Jude by The Beatles. This IS my song. I've been singing it since I was 4 years old, dancing with my best friend round the playground singing the na na na bit. It's just a song which has been there for me through the years, makes me so so happy when I hear it and i've already said I want this played at my funeral. so it's the most fitting song.
