Do your cats scratch you or pounce on your head while you're sleeping? I've always wanted to get a kitten, but I would be worried about leaving home alone when it's so young, and then I would be worried about it enslaving me and destroying my furniture.
They don't generally pounce on my head or scratch me when I'm asleep, though they'll sometimes walk over me or snuggle close to get warm.
As for the kitten bit, I adopted 2 adult cats and -then- got a kitten, so they took on a rather parental role with him.. I'd be hesitant to leave a baby ANYTHING home alone, so yeah, I can understand that fear. In terms of them destroying furniture, as long as you keep their claws trimmed, they're not bad. You can also curb that behaviour when they're little by shooing them with a watergun whenever they try.
