Martha Jones was freezing, and she looked like hell. The bruises that Ace's attack had inflicted upon her were nasty, and they'd darkened even more over night. The bruise on her face simply couldn't be hidden with make-up, as much as she would have liked too, but the turtleneck that she'd worn covered the marks on her throat save for the ones closest to her ears. When Ace had shown up, Martha never would have guessed that the woman's hands could leave such vivid fingerprints. Without thinking, Martha touched her split lip and she'd winced; apparently the healing that she went through when someone else had gotten injured didn't extend to wounds of her own. There was a dim moment where she wondered, idly, if the wounds would take double the amount of time to heal.
At the mention of healing, Martha looked down at the hand that she'd wrapped in some bandages. She'd managed to inherent someone's broken fist, even though she didn't as yet have any idea who. One of the nice things about having so many doctors around meant that people were less likely to catch onto her deal, and thus less likely for people to mention it. Well, people other than Severus Snape anyway. Right now she was just hoping that he'd do his best to keep quiet about it, because she didn't want to deal with that. Having him act like that was enough and she didn't want to get anymore angry about it or at him.
Out of the corner of her eye, Martha saw something gold gleaming. Frowning, she moved towards it, and she knelt down and picked up an ornate gold and black
mask. She wasn't sure that picking it up was the right thing, but once she held it she didn't want to put it down. There was no putting it on, however, at least not yet.
