So, my creative friends, I'm stuck. Would love some ideas, feedback, etc etc Oy, so I am doing some design work for a friend, yada yada. He is a chef and I am trying to just come up with a simple logo to be able to put up on the site we are putting together. I'm not a huge fan of the "chef" thing either, though I like the name in the first few. Could you maybe do some sort of simple culinary image, instead of the word "Chef"? Dunno if the classic chef's hat is too cheesy, but maybe something else like a plate or a fork or a pan?

Thanks! Ya I am scrapping the blue "chef" and pretty sure I'm going to scrap the tilted "G" as well. I have been trying to think of a culinary image that doesn't look cheesy, but haven't really put enough effort in to see if I can make it work. Hope you're doin well!

I agree with scrapping the tilted G. The base design is very effective, though. Very classy and eye catching. The 'Chef' above the name is good, although the font doesn't seem to jive perfectly with the name itself (very close, however).

I really like the design with the initials. My favorite by far.
