- Symbolism; just pick a couple of obvious references that recur throughout the story, and focus on them.
- I'd suggest One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's not too dense.
- Good luck with the musical. I would say the usual leg thing, but....
- There is still time to decide what to do with your life. The decision can be less daunting of you realize that a lot of people change what they're doing later on, too. Look at Tom Fox, for instance.
