It is gorgeous today...more importantly, it *feels* good. I've got a migraine from the happy polinating plants, but I think I'll go for a bike ride despite my icky feeling head and eyes. I wish there wasn't crew tonight so I could go horseback riding with Jess, but I suppose I'd rather be by myself right now- gives me time for some much needed

I would think the only way to approach such a question is from a personal point of view. What does being an American mean to you? What advantages do you acknowledge come from being born here? What responsibilties do those advantages convey? I would not take it as a chance to say everything that is wrong with the country, but as a way to think about how you as a citizen can work to improve things. I think the father of Abby and Rebecca would appreciate and value such an approach.
