Wow, that's awful. Whenever I go into the city from up where my family lives, I leave from the Broadway/Fair Lawn stop on route 4, and there's like no parking to be found anywhere around there. So I always leave my car in this parking lot by a group of shops and it's always been there when I got back. I don't notice any signs saying they'll tow, but I also notice nobody else seems to park there and then walk to the trains, so I'm always a little nervous about coming back at the end of the day and finding no car. I may stop doing that in the future after reading about your experience.
