So while on the way home from work today all the warning lights came on the dashboard, the radio started losing power and when I parked in the drive way the car shut off. Sooooo it's dead. Good news is that we are pretty sure it's just the alternator and Gordon says he should be able to install it for me, so all I have to do is pay for the part

Well dude, thankfully your car shut down in the driveway rather than the highway. Though, hopefully that is the only thing wrong with it, and it can be taken care of quickly.
