Usually most people give gifts for other people they would like for themselves, I wonder if this is true for animals as well. This morning on our front porch I was left one freshly killed chipmunk, lovingly given to me by our cat Mooch, thanks. Perhaps Mooch is just letting you know you did the right thing. Though our cat used to bring us loads of squirrel tails (we're pretty sure Arthur wiped out upwards of 75 squirrels in one summer those massively disrupting the local population) as a sign of his prowess for us to recognize and reward.
The weird thing is that for ever tail he brought to the front porch he put two in our dog Happy's house. The two of them got along great, but it's a astrange sign of loyalty and interspecies bonding that the dog was given more trophies than the humans.

Maaybeyou should bring Mooch to your shop for a couple day, maybe he can take care of your chipmunk there.
