Chapter One: Noona
Kibum was lying on his sister’s bed and watching her get ready for a party, she was pretty without makeup, but that didn’t stop her from piling it on. He laughed when she applied the mascara, her mouth opened to a stretched ‘o’ she caught him and giggled with him. She turned around and crossed her legs, she threw a plush pig in his direction,” Hey, I won’t let you sleep here tonight if you keep laughing like that!” he giggled some more. Being a big sister, she loved Kibum to death, that rascal was the best part of coming back home during vacation. She smiled into the mirror and stood up, posing,” How do I look, Kibum?” His eyes ran up and down the lanky body before he stuck his thumbs up,” Like a princess. Noona, do you really have to go tonight?” She nodded while picking up the kindergartener and swinging him in the air,” Yes I do, I need~ to go tonight. Guess who will be there?” He rolled his eyes,” Let me guess . . . J oppa!” She laughed and placed a kiss on his soft cheek,” Yes! So I absolutely, positively, HAVE to go! Please let me go, Kibum!” Her pleads made him blush,” Sure. But tomorrow you have to bring Jong and I to the mall.” She seated him on the bed and she crouched down,” Jonghyun? Your friend, Jonghyun? The short one with the cute nostrils, Jonghyun? OK.” She was looking for her clutch, Kibum was playing with it earlier and she couldn’t find it anywhere, until Kibum took it out from under the blanket and shoved it to her face. She puckered out her lips and Kibum kissed them loudly, she grinned and kissed him once on the cheek again. He hugged her and tugged at her long black hair, she squealed until he let go,” Kibum-ah! Don’t do that, hunny. I’ll be back in a couple of hours, ok? Be good for mom and dad. I love you!” He nodded,” I love you too, noona!”
He went through her luggage and looked for his present; she always brought a present from college to give to him. He gave up after five minutes and went downstairs; he slid on his shoes and went outside. Kibum knocked on his neighbor’s door, a familiar face opened it,” Oh look, our Kibum is here. Would you like me to call Jonghyun for you? Do you want to come inside?” He nodded and went into the house, knowing exactly where he would go next. He climbed up the long stairs and entered a blue room with cars and dinosaurs, Jonghyun was sleeping. His bed was so tall you needed a ladder to get to the top. It wasn’t really tall but since of the lack of height it was pretty lengthy.
Kibum climbed the next pair of stairs and entered the bed; he sat on top of his legs and pushed the boy until he woke up. A big pair of eyes joined the room and looked around, once seeing Kibum he smiled and lightly kicked him with his power ranger covered feet. He sat up and rubbed his sleepy eyes, pushing Kibum every chance he could. Kibum whined,” I hate you!” Jonghyun looked up, his expressions was priceless,” You hate me?” Kibum made an uh-oh, he reached out his hand,” I was just kidding, want to hold my hand?” Jonghyun took him up on that offer and they climbed down the mountain together, they both jumped off the last step and went to sit in a beanbag. Jonghyun looked at Kibum and laughed,” You have lipstick on you cheek, Kibummie!” Kibum wiped the thick makeup off his pale cheek and wiped it on other boy’s shirt,” My noona is here for a couple of days. I made a deal with her, so tomorrow she will bring us to the mall tomorrow. We could go to build a bear workshop!”
Kibum got up and went into the closet, picking out a pair of pajamas and day wear for tomorrow. Jonghyun was going to sleep over tonight so that they could leave bright and early in the morning, Jonghyun looked at the clothes and scrunched up his small face,” Why do I have to wear this?” Kibum looked at the clothes once and looked back at Jong,” It looks nice, it makes you look like a second grader when you wear stuff like this.” He could persuade anyone to do anything, it worked the most on Jonghyun though, since he was gullible and obedient.
They went downstairs to say goodbye to Jonghyun’s mother. She smiled widely and kissed both of them on the cheek,” Have fun tomorrow!”
They made their way into Kibum’s room and sat the night bag on the floor. Jonghyun jumped on the bed and laid down, he was still tired from not being able to finish his nap earlier,” When are you going to sleep?” Kibum shrugged,” I want to kiss my noona good night before I do. You can go to sleep first; I know I woke you up.” Jonghyun wanted to see Kibum’s noona, too, but he was just so tired. He couldn’t hold up his puppy eyes long enough, he fell asleep after a few minutes of watching Scooby doo. Kibum couldn’t fall asleep until his noona came home, he wanted to see her badly. He looked back at Jonghyun and giggled; he went up to him and stroked a piece of hair out of his face. Kibum whispered,” You are the best first grader in the whole wide world, and you’re pretty too. Night, night Jonghyun!”
