Happy birthday to auntof3  (belated) and emnigmatic ! I hope they are or were happy and healthy and full of good things.

I'm too occupied in cleaning and preparing my syllabus to really delve into the politics of the last week, but I did want to say something about Sarah Palin: I can't speak for her, but speaking for myself, I sure as hell couldn't have campaigned

Don't forget, Gov Palin has a husband, her parents, his parents, each has siblings, and her oldest children are teenagers. She has tons of help (there was a great article in People about her - I saw it online, I think it's this week's magazine). She admits she has a lot of help when she needs it.

I love that she has a daughter named Willow and a daughter named Piper - my TV shows colliding, LOL.

Good luck with the kindergarten - when do they start? Holy cow, it's already September tomorrow, they really start late up there! Is it full day? What's up with the teacher?

I don't question whether she has enough help or staff to care for the baby. But pregnancy takes a physical toll that I wasn't anywhere near over by 5 months. Yes, I had twins, but I was also 36, not 44, and I don't know about you, but my energy level has diminished, not improved, as I've gotten older! *g*

Oh I agree - I keep thinking, OMG, she's my age and I couldn't do it. But she seems ok at least looking at her. Every time I see her she seems like she looks rested and put together. Could be just a lot of makeup, LOL. But I always see one of the siblings or the husband watching the baby, so I think physically now she's ok. Now when she's 54 and the baby is 10 and running around? Yeah...then she might be having some problems, no doubt! As much as I still would want a child, seeing her at my age with a newborn is a reality check for me.
