character.
CHARACTER NAME: Asch fon Fabre
CHARACTER AGE: 20
AU? Asch was born the elder twin of two, having Luke as his younger sibling by half an hour. Yet, Luke was the one kidnapped when they were ten. Even though there was no replica made from him, Luke ended up following Van and became a God-General. To the rest of the world for seven years, Luke led Asch and his parents to believe he was dead; Asch in particular blamed himself for Luke's supposed death.
It was Asch who traveled with Tear when she came to attempt to kill her brother instead, and it was Asch who ended up saving the world, though most events in his time happened as in they did in canon. He also accomplished one thing: he brought his little brother back home.
PERSONALITY: Being the elder brother caused Asch to become somewhat of a perfectonist. If something isn't the way he likes it, he'll frown about it and try to fix it himself. He also has an older brother complex where he cares for any younger male as if they were Luke. Somehow, he believes that if he treats them well, it'll make up for the time he missed on with his younger twin.
Generally, when he isn't trying to fix details or being friendly, Asch tends to be quiet and serious. He can't take much of a joke in the literal sense - he won't get it, and will often demand a response. He's also not the brightest crayon in the box, and tends to be more reckless. While he does have the capacity to use his brains and plan in battle, he won't if something he cares about is on the line. Oddly enough, he's not spoiled despite being lavished with love and money from his parents.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Natalia: His fiancee. Asch cares deeply for her, even to the point where he performed reckless deeds to ensure her safety. They get along well enough. Asch is more open with her than anyone else, as he trusts her. He smiles, laughs, and appears the average teenager around her. Asch desires nothing more than to go home with her and to become her number one.
Luke: Asch blamed himself for Luke's disappearance and supposed death. He feels guilty about the events that happened, and believes that he was the one responsible; if he had shown Luke more love, or perhaps hadn't been so much of a perfectionist... maybe Luke wouldn't have became an anti-social, bitter person. Around Luke, Asch is oddly repentant and quiet. Their relationship's rocky at best.
Ginji: As the pilot for Asch's party, Asch and Ginji often came in close contact with each other. Asch won't admit it, but he thinks of Ginji as the brother he could have had, and often secretly gives the pilot gifts and tips. Ginji, however, knows completely what Asch is trying to do, and just pretends for his sake. They're friends, though neither of them will admit they're close.
THIRD PERSON WRITING SAMPLE:
How slowly had tonight passed by him? Asch sighed, leaning against the doorframe of his bedroom. He normally didn't mind watching the night sky; it was calming. Soothing, even, when he didn't want to face the world. It was understandable even more tonight.
"It's been seven years," He murmured to himself, keeping his gaze steady at the sky. "Seven whole years."
He didn't want to think about it. The white lilies just kept pouring in by the pounds, though. The mourners would stand beside the grave for hours, their voices wailing... how could he ignore this?
"Asch?"
He blinked, glancing over at the blonde beside him. "Yes, Natalia?"
She gestured over towards the grave. "... It's harder for you, isn't it? I'm sorry."
He didn't have to think about it. Embracing her, he let her rest her head on his shoulder. "What are you apologizing for," He whispered in her ear. "It's... not exactly your problem."
"Yes," She replied softly. "But you're the one grieving the most."
He had no reply to that, simply because it was true.

.little details
The Situation: Asch and Luke became twin siblings, though it was Asch who became engaged to Natalia. When they were ten, Van kidnapped both twins while they were vacationing near Choral Castle. At the time, Asch trusted Van and let him take Luke away "for only an hour", as he had been told. Luke was then kidnapped by Van and brainwashed into thinking that his family thought him worthless.
Van later took Asch to the basement of Choral Castle (drugging him after dinner), rearranging his memories so that Asch would believe that Luke died in an accident involving on a wild animal. What wasn't expected, however, was Asch to take it one level further unknowingly. Asch believed that it was he who was responsible for Luke's death, and tried to punish himself for the deed. To a ten year old, however, punishment meant drowning oneself in chocolate.
Surprisingly, Asch isn't fond of chocolate these days. Guy, as he was still the personal servant assigned to the twins, was the one who oversaw Asch's recovery. Asch, however, began to change his opinion of the blond completely. He immediately tried his best to start pleasing Guy - he thought that if someone would forgive him, then maybe he could move on. During these years, Luke would take on a new name (uh, I don't really know what the name would be. I was thinking Phoenix the Radiant) and become one of the Six God-Generals.
When he was seventeen, with his marriage to Natalia being only a year and a half away, Tear Grants came to the Fabre Manor to assassinate Van. Asch got in her way.. and they were transported to Tartaroo Valley. The events from that point on happened almost exactly as in game (with the obvious exception of Luke and Asch switching roles).
This was, of course, three years ago. Now, Asch is happily married to Natalia, currently overseeing his brother Luke's progress on becoming the new Duke after their father retires, and is well on his way to becoming Kimlasca's king.
Abilities/Attacks?
+ Asch can't cast magic. He never learned how. He more than makes up for it, however, by being the stronger twin when it comes to hyperresonance.
+ His style remained the same, but its power is normally weaker. When Natalia's or Luke's life is on the line or his honor is threatened (AKA, a personal reason), Asch's power becomes a lot stronger than normal.
+ Hi-Ougis have changed - Asch knows all of Luke's instead.
Misc [what doesn't fit]
+ Asch hates chocolate - specifically dark. This stems from him trying to drown himself in the substance when he was ten. (However, he's partial to white chocolate. No idea why)
+ Asch and Natalia have been married for nearly one year. Their anniversary date would be.. one week from Day One?
+ To be honest, Asch's name in his world is a nickname. His real name (Avidan) means 'Integrity of Light' in Ispanian. [In the real world, Avidan means 'my brother judged' in Hebrew. I thought it was an oddly fitting name for their situation. That, and.. I don't think Suzanne would've really named her second son Asch.]
[more will be added as they come up~ x_xb;]
