Fanartist Focus - introduction
Welcome, fellow twincesters, to Fanartist Focus!
This is a little project your mods and I decided to tackle exclusively for twinspiration! We all love to drool over the wonderful twincesty fanart that can be found around the twinternet, but here in this monthly feature, you not only get links to some of the best twincest-oriented fanart there is, but also a little bit of insight into the minds and personalities of the artists themselves.
Now let me preface this for the record by briefly explaining the criteria we used in selecting which art to include here as "Twincest Art". There are literally hundreds of fanart pieces around the net depicting Fred and George and somewhere using the word twincest in their title or description. To narrow things down, we are focusing on a few key elements that for the sake of our comm's focus need to be included. These are:
1. Fred and George, or James and Oliver must be the main characters.
2. It does not necessarily have to depict explicit sexual activity; there are plenty of examples where suggestive looks and subtle body language can imply the hottest twincest.
3. Other characters (threesomes, foursomes, etc) are fine, but if there is an overtly explicit sexual activity depicted, the piece still must convey somehow that the twins are involved in the action as a united team, and are into each other as much as other characters.
4. Quality of work is a factor, although there are many different levels of skill included. It's fanart, after all, done for fun out of inspiration and love of the characters, not for profit. But we drew an arbitrary line as to quality of work to consider, and were as objective as possible within the confines of the project. We will be mainly focusing on art done in a realistic, representational style, ie no cartoon characters, anime or fluffies.
5. All types of media are welcome, including not just conventional art but manips as well, as long as slash and twincest are the focus.
