Hmmkay. Babbling about story for a moment or two.
So the original one-off involved a fox-person and a snake-person and that worked just fine for a one page short thing. However as I'm diving deeper into writing this thing I'm feeling "enhh" about the snakes.
PROCONAwesome character design
That's how I originally did the story
Gives more culture-shockThe biology hurts me
It just doesn't make sense
Too much culture shock
Pushes "believability" too far
So I'm thinking about changing "snakes" to "jackals". That still gives the somewhat unsavoury kind of reputation, but deals with the biology and believability issues pretty handily. My dad pointed out that keeping everything vaguely "canine" (in so much as foxes are canine) makes the world easier for him, personally, to believe. I can keep the Egypt-ish feel that way, and it does make a lot of sense to me.
I just don't like change, I guess. And I want to do something with the pretty snakey character designs I came up with.
