Moderational, Moderunnatural

My moderation, I've just realized, is going to be an episode of multiple-personality disorder. My alzheimeric adviser and I have a humorous/vulgarly outspoken rapport. The other literature professor is an interesting but vague l=a=n=g=u=a=g=e poet whose ideas are almost the liberal-academic opposite of my adviser's. My projects for her are the ( Read more... )

since you used them, i was wondering if you could explain the significance of the equals signs? (l=a=n=g=u=a=g=e) cus i keep seeing people use them. Is it a way of signifying that language is really just a series of symbols that don't mean anything without what we super impose onto them culturally and mentally? sorry to hijack your post, but i'm really curious...
GOOD LUCK by the way...when's your moderation? it was fabulous to run into you yesterday.

Language, actually, I dunno! See, there was this magazine name L=A=N=G=U=A=H=E, and then there was this movement mostly referred to as Language by the actual poets of. I read all this shtuff on them and I can figure out is that they're like way postmodern and love Gertrude Stein. And, uh, question the inevitable presence of author or something. Plus Joan Retallack (board member and professor and acclaimed language poet) is all into poethical wagers an' wreading and Social Space and stuff. I - - - - yai yai - - -refer you to Wikipedia, helplessly.

Seriously, though, come see Ron Silliman! He's one of the first and famousest L=etc. poets, and he'll be reading at Weis this monday at 6:30. Wow!

P.S. It was great to see you too!
My moderation isn't until the 12th, so I'm high-stomached until then.

P.P.S. I might, might, might ask you a ton of invasive questions really soon in the name of poethics, actually. More explanation later. Or now, your choice.

You plug your camera into your computer. Something'll pop up to allow you to transport files onto the computer. Save the video and upload it to www.yousendit.com with which you can email a link to the temporarily uploaded file.
