The good:
-Dean is pretty
-Sam is pretty
-I still love the brothers.
-Rufus! So good to see you.
-And Gwen! I've missed you.
-"It's not rocket surgery" -- heh.
-Sam threatening Gramps over Dean, aww. I like.
-Dean stepping between Gramps and Sam, awww. I like this too.
-Dean forgives you, Sammy. But it's nice that you acknowledge you might not be worthy of the clean slate he's offering.
The eh:
-Yay, our arc! I was worried that they'd forgotten about it. Or given up entirely. Unfortunately, aside from reminding us that this season does indeed have an arc, we didn't really make any progress. Although she did issue that standard "Yer-gonna-diiiiieeeee" warning, so there's that. I like how Sam and Dean can't even pretend to be alarmed anymore.
-Everything comes back to Eve, really? Huh.
-Gramps, jokes about your grandson touching your withered old junk are not funny. Your whole obsession with your dead daughter is creepy enough, thanks.
-Bobby carries a cranial saw in his car, SERIOUSLY? Just in case? Oh, please.
The arrrrrgggh:
-OMG, "Dean" shot Gwen. Nooooo! I actually liked her, but at least that's one less interchangeable 20-something brunette to keep track of.
-Wow, they sure reacted casually to the murder of an innocent young woman. Not that I want Dean to have anything else to agonize over, but that felt really off to me.
-And for fuck's sake, exactly how many times are we going to rip off the plot of The Thing? I think this episode ripped off their previous rip of The Thing and it's all getting a little embarrassing. I know Sera isn't the most original and creative of writers but COME ON.
-So what was the point of the Campbells ever being around in the first place? They feel like another plot that fizzled out into nothingness. I really thought that was going somewhere for awhile, too. What a waste.
-Was that a "Dean has herpes" jokes? Oh honestly Sera. Grow up.
-I wish they wouldn't have killed Rufus. He was a good character, and this show doesn't have many of those left.
Next episde isn't until April 15th? I'm actually fine with that. I'm sick of being disappointed and sick of listening to myself complain about this season.
