It almost seems like something out of a movie, like if you are there at the right time, some magic happens and the little gondola will whisk you away to another realm (or maybe I've just been watching too much Miyazaki!) Gorgeous photos though, thank you for sharing them. What a cool adventure. :)

Oh wow, that is actually a really neat setting for a story! It is very Ghibli-like, but so is a lot of Japan ;)

Thanks!! Hopefully there'll be many more to come---!

Gorgeous place! From your commentary on the twitter picture, I thought this was somehow still smack dab in the city of Tokyo and that's what had me wondering about the locale. ;)

Haha, I see! I guess Tokyo will always be more known for its huge cities, but really, it has so much beautiful nature too!

See, when I hear Tokyo, I automatically think of one city full of colorfull neon signs and shiny skyscrapers and temples and Disney.

Tokyo is confusing, I think most people think of it as one big city, similar to capital cities in Europe. But it's not like that at all. Tokyo is a metropolis, built up of 39 municipalities and 23 city wards (self governed cities) within the historical boundaries of what was known as Tokyo city up until 1943. Tokyo is one of Japan's 47 prefectures.

Travelling around Tokyo really feels like travelling between different cities. Each city ward has its own look, atmosphere, and history. It's all part of what makes Tokyo so exciting!

Fun fact! Disney isn't located in Tokyo. 8D Even though it's called Tokyo Disneyland, it's actually located in Chiba prefecture.
