I'm taking a break from livejournal. I don't want anyone to be worried about my dissapearence, but I'll be around. I don't know how long it'll take, but I'll be back one of these days. It could be tomorrow, or Monday or never

Starting with characters will definitely assist you in writing dialogue since then you can "hear" them. Setting the story in a location you have not seen is a little trickier. But between pictures and your research, you'll be ok. And I've been to England in 1976, 1980, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1995, and 1996 (why yes, I am showing off)so maybe I can fill you in on some parts.
Oh, and to show off even worse - I was a Japanese history major in college.
Don't I just suck? But I'd be pleased to direct you if you want it.
Back in high school, my English teacher told me to start out by writing short stories which I haven't done. Do you think that should be the route that I take?
Your help would be appreciated it. You can start out by giving me examples of british names. Five male names, and five female names. That would be great.
I have a friend in England, and I'm going to see if she can send me maps of different parts.
We oughta do this on email rather than here, because here's the problem. When you go British, you have the stereotype names that sound cool, like Trevor and Garreth, but sometimes it comes off like you're saying, "Hi, my character is British."
Think about Irvine Welsh. He can name a character "Mike" and make him totally Scottish.
Having said that, Gemma is a wonderful English girl's name.
i could do research here by smoking one, too. oh many drags will it get to the filter? update on the tootsie roll pop of the 80's that went, "how many licks will it take to get to the center of the tootsie roll pop?"
