I still loved the GS500E- probably because micahra has one and she was one of the first people I knew in person with a bike. Over the summer, the GS500F's were barely out of the crate before they were sold.
I <3 that era of Honda when they were basing their designs on Triumphs and Moto Guzzis, minus the tendency of classic Triumphs to barf oil everywhere and the tendency of vintage Guzzis to not run ever.
This one reminds me a lot of the Thruxton (er- other way around, technically). But you've gotta love the kickstarter. Have you ever seen the W650? Pretty, but I'm a fan of The Real Thing (read: actual Bonneville).
I love the sculpted tank with the cutouts for your knees. Funny how that would be the norm on sportbikes years later.
I actually used to know someone who put Bonnie tank badges on a W650. He was soundly mocked.
I wish more bikes would come with a kickstarter. I'm a huge fan of pushing a button, but it would be a nice feature to have both for those occasions when one's bike's battery feels a need to go on strike.
