[TRAVEL BUG] Singapore Here I Come!

Nov 23, 2010 09:26

This feels like one big ball of rush but I will be in Singapore on 29th of November to the 2nd of December! The 29th will be the official work-related day but then I got permission to stay until the 2nd and drain my savings.

I will be meeting up with hemisofia and snoew on the night of Dec 1 for dinner and I dunno if any of you want to join us (miserabilities , tipsytoe , and angelamori ). ( Read more... )

You can pick up a map and some brochures at the airport when you arrive. Otherwise, Google Map! The Train network is really easy and you can see a map of it everywhere in every wall of train/station so don't worry about getting lost hahaha ( ... )

Ahhh good. haha Just making sure I have an access to a map there. Still trying to borrow a netbook from the office for the trip.

Kino! I am Kinokuniya deprived so I definitely need to go there.

Would you know how much it would cost to go to Resorts World?

LOL You have the link to that Aiba escapade?

The Safari seems like a cool idea!

This is why I don't own a credit card yet. haha Oh well I'm going to budget shop on this trip. hahaha

Okay... I will try to look for you then. haha

Resorts World is free admission, but Sentosa itself charges admission. My recommendation is to take the train to Harbourfront, then take the Sentosa Express from Vivo City (http://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/getting-around/sentosa-express/). It costs $3 which includes admissions to the island.

Thanks for the links! I'd check out Universal but maybe some other time when I have more money.

Night Safari is a must! Get the glow-in-the-dark shirt too if you want.
It's really really pretty ;_; ♥
Plus the night scenery there is unforgettable!~
Sentosa is pretty awesome too. Cable car ride FTW~

There's like a bazaar somewhere in the city but I forgot exactly where @_@ I'm sorry~ ;__;

I was going to say 'human map...? :D' but er. yes. hemisofia's suggestion is probably much better. I'm not much of a shopper but I've been told that Bugis Street has cheap clothes and whatnot if you're interested. Other than the zoo which is huge and awesome and Sentosa (USS might be pricey since you're on a budget though), the museums here are kinda cool if you like that kind of thing 8D As for food, PRATA. SAMBAL STINGRAY. CHILLI CRAB. KAYA TOAST. BANDUNG TAUHUAY. POPIAH. I'm honestly not sure how different the food is from over there because I live under a rock but we have, well, practically everything here because eating is a pasttime :D Message me if you need help with anything yeah :)

Fooodddd!! Want to check out the street food seriously. I plan on going to Sentosa not USS though. I'd rather use the money to shop for now. Any museums you'd recommend?

You could check out the National museum. Architecture style is Neo-classical with modern touch. http://www.nationalmuseum.sg/nms/nms_html/nms_content_2.asp?cat=Visit_The_Museum. There is also SAM (Singapore Art Museum) http://www.singaporeartmuseum.sg/visitus/. The National library is pretty if you like architecture with lots of glass windows. You could walk from one place to another, But come prepared with walking shoes. (:
